chipKIT Data Station
A low-energy data logger to add sensors to any of your projects
The chipKIT Data Station is an Arduino-compatible, 4-channel remote data logger. It is designed to operate for weeks at a time on battery power. The unit includes a smart LiPo battery charger, which automatically switches power as needed and recharges the battery from USB.
Records temperature, ambient light level, and data from 2 arbitrary sensors in Click board format. Connects via LoRaWANTM network; transmits data periodically to a remote host. Data can also be saved to a uSD Flash card.
A graphical smartphone app for Android or iOS provides configuration and control. User can scroll and select from a catalog of Click sensors supported by the Data Station. A few taps set the sampling interval, data format, etc.
The Data Station comes pre-programmed and is ready to use out-of-the-box. Full source code is provided and can be customized using Arduino IDE.
PIC32 microcontroller supports full TLS 1.2 encryption, deep sleep for battery management, and plenty of memory for custom applications (~512K Flash.)
